Hot Vampire Samurai, aka Hakuouki

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Whew, there is so much beautiful art available in the mags for this game, I just spent a significant amount of time scanning it - this post will be image-heavy because I couldn’t decide what NOT to show.
As mentioned when it was announced, Hakuouki, being released September 19 for the PS2, takes place in the Meiji Bakumatsu, or the end of the Meiji era. The Shinsengumi was a group of samurai policemen infamous for its strict rules, its ruthlessness, and the fact that it was the only samurai group that allowed commoners to join - the samurai class was usually restricted to the aristocracy.
The Shinsengumi’s leader was Kondou Isami, and his lieutenants were Hijikata Toshizou and Okita Souji. They and other famous members are all main characters in Hakuouki.

Hijikata Toshizou (CV: Miki Shinichirou) - The second-in-command of the Shinsengumi. Strict but thoughtful.
Okita Souji (CV: Morikubo Shoutarou) - The captain of the Shinsengumi’s first regiment (troop? team?). Laidback and nonchalant.
Saitou Hajime (CV: Toriumi Kousuke) - The captain of the 2nd team. Serious and cool.

I have a love/hate relationship with her, because I like her art very much, but she draws quite a number of bishounen, with sometimes an entire doujinshi dedicated to them. Well, the worst must have been the doujinshi for a very popular shounen with ninja inside ( Not telling the title, I don’t want to be referenced for it lol ). Vanillesose Marchen is the first and unique doujinshi I have from her. It’s a 25 pages, B5 sized doujinshi, with a thin cardboard cover, with a frilly cutting for the front, and the rest is a standard plastic paper

Angels are messengers of God in the Hebrew Bible

Angels are messengers of God in the Hebrew Bible (translating מלאך), the New Testament and the Quran.
The term "angel" has also been expanded to various notions of "spiritual beings" found in many other religious traditions.
The theological study of angels is known as angelology. In art, angels are often depicted with wings, ultimately reflecting the descriptions in the Hebrew Bible, such as the chayot in Ezekiel's Merkabah vision or the Seraphim of Isaiah.
